Comments Settings
Like buttons on WordPress comments — same core options as Posts, plus admin columns and editor overrides.
Let readers like helpful comments — the same way they like posts.
WP ULike → Settings → Content Types → Comments
Same foundation as Posts
Comments use the same shared options as Posts: template, automatic display, button type, counter, voting rules, likers box, and all Pro extras (dislike, percentage, modal login).
If you already configured Posts, Comments will feel familiar. Read Shared Content Type Options for the full shared list.
What Comments adds
| Option | Purpose |
|---|---|
Show Admin Columns | Likes column in Comments list in wp-admin — sort and scan top comments quickly |
Comments does not include Posts-only filters like “Hide on home/archive” or attachment likes — those apply to post content, not comment threads.
Pro extras for Comments
- Standard meta data — store like, dislike, and net vote totals on the comment for themes and queries
- Comment editor panel — override template or display for one comment (Post & Comment Editor Panel)
- Dislike button and Pro templates — same as Posts
Suggested setup
- Enable Automatic Display on Comments.
- Pick a minimal template — comment threads get crowded easily.
- Keep Logged-in only on if you see spam voting.
- Pair with Blacklist under General settings for abusive IPs.
Manual placement
Comments support the [wp_ulike] shortcode inside comment templates if your theme allows — but automatic display is easier for most themes.
Compare types: See how Comments differs from Posts, BuddyPress, and bbPress in the comparison table on Shared Content Type Options.
