License Troubleshooting
Resolve expired, invalid, inactive site, connection, and 403 errors.
Most license problems fall into a few categories. Start with the status shown on WP ULike → License, then match it to the fixes below.
Common error states
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
Expired | Renewal required — updates and support pause until you renew |
Invalid | Key not found or revoked — check My Account or your purchase email |
Site inactive / Mismatch | This URL is not registered on the license — common after domain or HTTPS changes |
Disabled / Cancelled | License disabled in your account |
Limit reached | All activation slots are in use — remove an old site first |
Connection error | WordPress could not reach wpulike.com |
Site inactive or URL mismatch
Your key is fine — the website address changed (new domain, HTTPS switch, or staging URL).
- Click Activate License again on the current URL.
- If the limit is reached, remove an unused site from My Account → Connected sites or deactivate on another installation.
- After cloning a database to a new URL, always deactivate and reactivate so the registered URL matches.
Expired license
Renew from the link on the License page or your account dashboard, then click Refresh License.
Your site keeps running the last installed Pro version until you renew. See Renew Your License for auto-renewal and manual renewal options.
Connection errors and 403 responses
If activation fails with a connection error or 403 Forbidden, your server is likely blocking outbound HTTPS to wpulike.com.
- Confirm your host allows outbound connections to
wpulike.com(no firewall or WAF blocking). - Contact your hosting company and ask them to allow connections to wpulike.com if the block persists.
- Check WP ULike Pro → Tools → Debug Info for the last API response.
- Temporarily disable security plugins that block REST or outbound requests.
Use Copy for support on the License page when opening a ticket — it includes masked key details and environment info.
Invalid key
- Copy the key again from My Account → Licenses — avoid extra spaces.
- Confirm you are using the key for WP ULike Pro, not another product.
- If the key was revoked or refunded, contact support with your order number.
Still seeing "Go Pro" after purchase?
- Activate both WP ULike (free) and WP ULike Pro.
- Update both plugins to the latest version.
- Confirm license status is Active under WP ULike → License.
- Test with other plugins disabled to rule out conflicts.
Full checklist: Activate Your License.
Subdomain and staging issues
- Each live subdomain needs its own activation slot unless it matches staging patterns (
dev.*,staging.*, localhost, etc.). - A staging URL that does not match allowed patterns counts like a production site.
Still stuck? Copy the system report from Debug Info and contact support with your license key.
